Ewan McGregor is one of my all time favourite actors and general all round nice guy, plus he grew up not that far away from me.

I did all of the portrait in Painter 11 with a few minor colour tweaks near the end in PS.
Once I had the colours I wanted blocked in I used the Grainy Blenders, the Artists Impressionist and some Chalk brushes for details.
I added a simple paper texture once the painting was completed.
